Such a shame!

Oh dear! This could be such a special place - large interestingly decorated bedrooms and beautiful location. But..... We waited half an hour for someone to come to lead our car to the remote location, where we were greeted with a glass of tepid water. The hotel was totally soul-less, upturned chairs on the table in the main reception rooms and we were the only guests! Why take bookings if the hotel is technically closed? Dinner was very basic, a couple of dishes served without even any rice. Breakfast was cornflakes and an apple, although they did manage a plain omelette for my husband. We had been going to stay three nights, but one was enough .... such a pity as the hotel had potential.

Worse experience

Terrible experience because the area was covered in filth and had spiders and reptiles all over it. Bathrooms were so filthy that one hesitated before using the loo. When the owner heard about the problem, he yelled and immediately said, "This is what it is," adding that if you don't like the space, you may go but there won't be a refund. The food was even worse because he just serves basic fare like a local dhaba. I won't suggest anyone squander their money and holiday mood

I booked Anand@Satluj via Turban Adventure and checked in on 27th February 2023. I was given W2 villa. Every thing was fine until I went toilet and tried to switch the light on. I received an electric shock from a broken switch which was located in a dark place. I reported to turban adventure and hotel management. I was moved into another villa and told that shower doesn’t work in this room therefore I will have to go back in the morning to shower in W2 where I had received an electric shock. They could not give me another room as half of the showers don’t work. Next morning I was messed about again as shower didn’t work in W2 either eventually they found me a room to have shower, the shower and room was dirty, smelly and unhygienic. I complained to the staff and was met with couldn’t careless attitude. They didn’t care about my bad experience as I could easily be electrocuted if I was not wearing rubber sole shoes. I was not even offered apology. I made a video of the broken switch and sent to Turban Adventure, as I understand it was shared with Anand@Satluje hotel management. As I further understand from Truban Adventure manager that hotel management had acknowledge the video but failed to acknowledge the risk to my life. They have not offered any apologies/refund let alone compensation for my worst experience of my life. This hotel is waiting for a fatality to happen unless management takes serious step. I normally don’t write negative reviews but this time it was health and safety risk hence I wanted to make our traveling community to be mind full and check it for themselves

Anomalous Anand at the Satluj

Anand at the Satjuj is a unique proposition in the holy town of Shri Anandpur Sahib curated by Mr. Sodhi Vikram Singh. Built on the premise of rural Punjab farmhouse, the boutique hotel offers mesmerizing insight into the laidback life at a typical Punjab farmhouse. The Hotel / Resort is built over substantial acres of farmland which is the private property of Mr Sodhi. The cottages appear to be rustic from the outside but are equipped with all the modern amenities inside. The decor is immaculate and the comfort is awesome. Perfect blend of relaxing stay while adoring the beautiful setting of countryside village. There are activities such as SPA and Billiards as well at the property. Moreover, you can even enjoy a game of cricket if travelling in large group. Coming to food, this is where I have deducted one star. Although the property mentions that it prepares food as per the occupancy of guests and doesn't believes in wastage of food, there is no excuse of providing stale food to the guests. We visited in the cold weather of December and all we were served was stale and cold food. When we resisted, we were met with stiff resistance from the property Manager and the support staff. Only when I raised to escalate this to the Owners of the property, we were served hot and freshly prepared food in our cottages. This is one area where Management needs to give serious thought. Just leaving such a beautiful property to the mercy of unprofessional Managers will surely spoil the reputation of Anand at the Satluj. As for the approach to the property, it is quite difficult and goes through a field and practically is non existent till the time someone from the property comes to fetch you on the highway and takes you to the property. 4 stars for the sheer experience and joy of being at this property. However, one star need to be improved upon the customer experience particularly on the food front.

Awful experience with a rude manager

This place has the potential to be good but at the moment it is terrible. This is due, I suspect, to a very poor manager who is also incredibly rude. It was the only place on a three week trip that we were not made to feel welcome. The room was not ready and had poor facilities (eg toilet paper in the face tissue dispenser). the whole place was grubby. The food was terrible (the worst fried eggs I have ever had and a very bland dinner). In fact the hotel did not want to serve non veg food in our included dinner (I suspect because of cost) despite having a menu that included a number of non veg items. The manager treated our guide and driver appallingly and he made an outrageous scene in the restaurant that required intervention to calm his manner. My advice is do not go here.
